2018 - Port of Entry, GSA Art In Public Spaces, Derby Line, Vermont

Seamlessly integrated, the art and architecture form the identity of the Derby Line Port of Entry- a welcome threshold into the United States. This site-specific artwork reveals the patterning of a forested landscape giving definition to the building exterior and interior. The abstraction of vertical trees in the forests of Vermont and the striated patterning of drill marks from regional stone quarries inspires the visual language for the new Port Building. Intrinsically connecting to Vermont, the artwork is a visual narrative for travelers coming into this country, traveling north on I-91.
